In the Hot Seat

Welcome to my stop on In the Hot Seat with The Hot Chocolates! We are one of the teams created by Nori at Read Write Love as part of the Book Blogger Creativity Project. Our team has devised a set of bookish questions for each of us to answer this week.

Questions from Olivia @ The Candid Cover:

Are you a fan of book-to-movie adaptations? If so, which is your favourite?

I love watching movies that have been inspired by books. The Hunger Games has been one of my favourite series to watch on the big screen.

Do you ever have crushes on characters in books? Who is your current crush?

I do have book crushes from time to time! My favourite book boyfriend is Chaol from the  Throne of Glass series.

Questions from Elizabeth @ Thoughts from an Evil Overlord

How long does it take you to pull together a review after you’ve read the book?

It typically takes about a day for me to process and formulate a review. I write up my thoughts, let them simmer and edit the next day.

Do you read ahead or skip certain elements in a book? Why?

NEVER! That would just be wrong!

Questions from Milka @ Read.Read.Read.

Which book would you like to see turned into a film or a TV series? Who would you cast for the roles of the main characters?

I would love to see The Selection Series as a movie. It would be really amazing to see America Singer to be played by Jane Levy.

Which fictional character would you like to go on a date with? What would you do?

I would obviously go on a date with Chaol. We would most likely spend time walking the grounds of a romantic palace.

Questions from Kat @ Books and Sensibility

What is the last book you pre-ordered or purchased the day it came out ?

I pre-ordered Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas last.

Which author do you think is amazing that you feel l like doesn’t get enough love ?

I think that Stacey R. Campbell and her Lakeview Series is underrated.

Questions from Alice @ Alice’s Book Vault

What book, if there is one, has given you the worst book hangover?

I have had many book hangovers, but the one that left me with the biggest hangover of all time was The Fault in Our Stars.

What series do you wish would never end? That you could always get more of?

I wish that Eve Silver’s The Game Series would just go on and on. These books are so addicting!

Questions from Wesaun @ Oreos and Books

If you had to face your biggest fear or fears with a character to be your guide along the way, which would you choose?

Four from the Divergent Series would be the ultimate character to guide me along the way for various reasons. 😉

What’s a book that would inspire you to do a cosplay/nail art/clothing/other? Why?

I think that it would be really cool to cosplay Celaena from the Throne of Glass Series. A costume for this character would be so detailed and incredible as she is an assassin.

Questions from Brittany @ The Passionate Bookworms

What is the last book you DNF’d? At what point did you stop and why?

I DNF’d A Whole New World this summer. I stopped at about 10% into the novel. This book was a huge disappointment, as it was basically a word for word story that came straight from the Disney movie.

What do you think the next trend of books will be? For a long while it was dystopian, what is your prediction for the next big genre?

I think that high fantasy is the current trend right now. What’s not to love about imagined worlds that we can escape reality with?

Questions from Nori @ Read Write Love

If you could visit any world in any book, which world would you visit?

It would be a dream to visit the world of Red Queen. This world is so fantastical with its amazing glass castles.

What character do you think could be your best friend?

I think that I could really connect with Lara Jean in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before because she is such an honest and caring person. I could also love a friend who makes anything called a Snickerdoodle.

Questions from Tee @ Me, Books and the Internet

Which book character do you think you’re most like? Why?

I think that I am most like Tris in Divergent because she fits into so many factions. I like to believe that my personality is one that can embrace different ways of seeing things.

Have you ever read a book that had a moment that happened to you in real life? If, what book and what moment?

I suppose that the book, Best Friends Through Eternity reminds me about my real life. The setting in the story is close to where I live.

Questions from Elly @ A Hufflepuff’s Thoughts

Choose one shelf from your bookshelf.  What does it look like? (take a picture)

I still haven’t had the opportunity to read this baby yet, but when I do I know that I will be swept back into this amazing world!

If you could have any animal/ non-human character from any book, who/what would you choose and why?

I would love to have Hedwig as a pet. It would be really fun to have an owl that delivers my mail.

Thanks for following along with our project! Each day this week, our team will post a new response from one of our members. Stay tuned for Elly @ A Hufflepuff’s Thoughts and her post tomorrow!
